Become an Edgewood Docent
Monday, November 6, 2017
Friends of Edgewood Park, a volunteer group that helps others to better understand, respect, and support Edgewood Park and the natural world, is offering training for new wildflower walk docents. Edgewood Docents lead interpretive nature walks throughout the year, but especially during the spring wildflower season.
Docent training is offered each year, from January through April. Eight Wednesday evening classes are paired with Saturday morning field hikes. You’ll learn about Edgewood’s geology, plants, and wildlife, along with its history, preservation, and restoration. Along the way, you’ll develop the interpretive strategies and skills that make for a great walk experience.
A $40 course fee is payable at the first class. No previous training is required.
