San Bruno Mountain Hikes
At San Bruno Mountain Park
1st, 3rd, & 4th Saturday of each month, 10am-1:30pm
San Bruno Mountain is the nearest wilderness to the homes of over one million people. The docent-led hikes hosted by San Bruno Mountain Watch in this native ecosystem are a unique experience for people to learn about nature in their own area and understand the need to become involved in its protection. There are two recurring hike events, as listed below. See the Mountain Watch upcoming events for additional seasonal hikes.
Paul Bouscal, a Mountain Watch Board Member who lives on the mountain, leads hikes exploring the mountain's less-traveled canyons, where hikers can learn their history and ecology. These hikes are held first and third Saturday of every month. Learn More »
David Schooley, founder of San Bruno Mountain Watch, leads hikes into Owl and Buckeye Canyons. David has devoted most of his life to preserving the mountain and sharing it with others through his tireless work leading hikes, speaking, and organizing. His deep knowledge of the mountain and his love of nature will touch those who hike with him. These hikes are held on the fourth Saturday of each month. Participants should register ahead of the event. Learn More »
