Updated Monday, June 15, 2020
On Monday, June 15 San Mateo County Parks expanded the limited opening of Crystal Springs Regional Trail by lifting previous bicycle restrictions. The trail is now open for all normal use by foot traffic, bicycles, and equestrians.
Hikers, joggers and cyclists, please be considerate of fellow trail users and practice social distancing. As well, new health orders from the San Mateo County Health Officer state that additional precautions must be taken by joggers and cyclists because these activities cause airborne particles to be more forcefully expelled. Additional precautions include:
- Wear a face covering when possible.
- When encountering pedestrians, bicyclists should slow down and move to side.
- Don’t spit.
- Avoid running or cycling directly in front of or behind another runner or cyclist who is not in the same household as you.
Park staff will monitor compliance with the 15 mph speed limit, trail etiquette, and other safety measures including not congregating. Learn more in a letter from Parks Director, Nicholas Calderon »
Restrooms at the South Gate, Hillcrest, and San Andreas trailheads are open to the public.
