Crystal Springs Regional Trail Open for Limited Use
Thursday, May 21, 2020
Expanding on the May 4 reopening of Crystal Springs Regional Trail to foot traffic only, bicycles will now be allowed on designated sections of the trail, effective Friday, May 22. The designated sections are the San Andreas Segment and any trail segment south of the South Gate, located on Crystal Springs Road. See a map of the sections where bicycles are allowed »
Hikers, joggers and cyclists please be considerate of fellow trail users by carrying a face covering when recreating and wearing it when you can’t maintain a distance of 6 feet.
In addition, new health orders from the San Mateo County Health Officer states that additional steps must be taken by joggers and cyclists because these activities cause airborne particles to be more forcefully expelled, including:
- Wear a face covering when possible
- When encountering pedestrians; slow down and move to side
- Don’t spit
- Avoid running or cycling directly in front of or behind another runner or cyclist who is not in the same household.
Park staff will be stationed along the trail to prevent bicycle entry into parts of the trail not designated for bikes and to remind visitors to maintain social distancing.
Restrooms at the South Gate, Hillcrest, and San Andreas trailheads are open to the public.
