OpenRoad Visits San Bruno Mountain
Monday, April 9, 2018
On Sunday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. NBC aired an OpenRoad episode featuring San Bruno Mountain State and County Park, an open-space island in the midst of urbanization.
Watch host Doug McConnell chat with San Mateo County Parks’ Natural Resource Manager to understand how the Mountain’s biological diversity makes it the ideal home for 4 endangered or threatened butterflies and 14 species of rare or endangered plant life. They are joined by staff and a volunteer with San Bruno Mountain Watch, a non-profit organization that is part of the ongoing effort to protect the Mountain.
Each Sunday, McConnell introduces viewers to Bay Area cultural and historical resources, especially those found in parks and open spaces. The show airs on NBC Bay Area every Sunday at 6:30 p.m. The San Mateo County Parks Foundation is an OpenRoad sponsors.
