Pillar Point Bluff Closed to Mavericks Event Viewing

The window for the Mavericks Challenge Surf competition has been announced with the opportunity for the competition to occur between today and late March 2019. The competition area will be closed to the public.
In addition, Pillar Point Bluff, a San Mateo County Park in Moss Beach, will be closed during the competition as will Pillar Point Marsh. Park rangers will be on site beginning as early as 6 a.m. to dissuade anyone from accessing the bluff. They will be assisted by San Mateo County Sheriff deputies.
Competition organizers encourage surfing enthusiasts to view live streaming of the event at selected businesses located from Santa Cruz to San Francisco.
