Social Distancing

Updated Tuesday, May 5, 2020

On Monday, May 4, Sam McDonald Park reopened for hikers, runners, and horseback riders to enjoy trails. In order to promote social distancing, some trails will temporarily operate in one direction only. This is to ensure that trail users can achieve 6 feet of distance between each other when passing on the narrow path. Watch for more information posted at park kiosks and trail heads. View the temporary one-way trail system map »

Jack Brook Horse Camp, Sam McDonald Visitor Center, and all picnic sites and restrooms remain closed. The main parking lot at the park entrance and the Heritage Grove Trail parking lot on Alpine Road are open.
