Update on Playgrounds Closure
Thursday, October 1, 2020
On Sept. 28, 2020 the California Department of Public Health announced that outdoor community playgrounds can reopen but facility operators must first implement state guidelines before opening such as cleaning all playground equipment, providing signage with maximum number of users, marking playgrounds to help children and adults maintain 6-foot distancing, and more.
San Mateo County Parks is working on the many steps required by the state—including conducting licensed safety inspections—to open its 10 playgrounds. For updated information about County-managed playgrounds, check this website or on Facebook @SanMateoCountyParks or on Twitter @SMCParks.
