Help combat invasive plants by removing weeds and fostering the growth of locals species.

Join SMC Parks Volunteer Stewardship

Join us on Saturdays for a variety of seasonal projects in a different park every week. Come when you can and no experience is necessary.

Work in the Mission Blue Nursery

Do you have a green thumb? If so, you're needed at San Bruno Mountain's Mission Blue Nursery to help grow plants for habitat restoration.

Park Docents

Sign up to educate visitors about the parks' unique features and history. Docents are needed in the following parks: Edgewood and Wunderlich.

Trail Patrol

As a member of the trail patrol, you'll help answer visitors' questions and report trail conditions to rangers. The commitment is one patrol per month and you will receive training.

Volunteer Horse Patrol

The Volunteer Horse Patrol observes and reports trail use and conditions while riding horses within county parks, and informs and assists park visitors.

Volunteer Agreement Form

The San Mateo County Parks Department welcomes volunteers and greatly appreciates the time and energy volunteers devote to park projects and programs. As a volunteer, you should understand and agree to the information in the following agreement form before you perform any work in a County park. An additional agreement is required if you are volunteering during the COVID-19 pandemic.
